New Water Treatment Plant

The Open House for the new water treatment plant on Paint Creek Road was held on Sunday, June 25, 2006, from 2-4 pm. Approximately 25 interested customers and Lakengren Water Authority employees attended the event. Cake, cookies, and punch were served.

The new water treatment plant, located at 5306 Paint Creek Rd., is funded by the Ohio EPA. The project came in under budget and was completed 16 days before the completion deadline.

The LWA Board of Trustees would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to complete this project, especially Alan Stobaugh, Chief Water Operator, and Greg Brumbaugh, Project Supervisor for BCI. These men did a fine job of working together to get this task completed.

There are some minor glitches that are being worked out, but the new water treatment plant is operating well. Fine-tuning of chemical dosages continue and the final "punch list" (small items that have to be completed) has been minimized to under ten items. Landscaping continues and grass has began to grow.
